What Europeans Know About the Beaches of Spain

October 12th, 2007

When Americans think of a European beach paradise, the Mediterranean coast of France is likely to come to mind. But Europeans have long known that some of the best beaches in the world are to be found in sunny Spain.

Look at the maps, respectively, of Spain and France. While both of them have a generous amount of coastline, Spain is almost surrounded by water. Plus, it’s farther south, and therefore it’s beaches, on average, are warmer and can be enjoyed for a longer period of time through the year.

Don’t forget the Spanish islands, either: the Balearics, Mallorca and the Canaries. During the high season the beaches and lively beach towns of these islands are packed with visitors, most of them Europeans. No visit to Spain is complete without a jaunt to one or more of these wave-kissed jewels.

Spain is noted for its great museums, the medieval architecture still to be found throughout the country, and its vibrant modern cities such as Barcelona. As wonderful as these are, and all well worth seeing, it would be a shame to overlook the gorgeous Spanish beaches.

You can find out more about the beaches of Spain at the web site Living In Spain - Spain for Travelers & Home-Seekers. This site also has information on moving to and living in Spain, as well as visiting it, whether for short- or long-term.

European Vacation

June 6th, 2007

When you plan a vacation to Europe, you will probably decide to explore on your own or decide to go on a package tour. Traveling on a package tour is a good way to visit a country if it is your first time, as you will no doubt benefit from the experience and knowledge of the coach tour company.

On an organised coach tour, you do end up with a vacation designed to give you a taste of the country without scratching too much below the surface. This is a great way for you to decide, where in the future you would like to re-visit and explore the surrounding areas without the time constraints of an organised tour.

A good package tour will offer a number of different experiences so that the majority of tastes are accounted for. This will most certainly involve visiting famous landmarks, buildings, galleries, museums and even a show or two. Add in a number of optional excursions into the mix and you have all the making for a successful European package tour.

When deciding on a package tour company to book with, it’s also worth considering booking a tour direct with companies in the country you plan to visit. A lot of European countries have successful long established coach tour companies.

For instance, it can be a cost effective strategy to just book your flights to the country of your choice and then join up with the tour operator. London is an ideal base for American travelers to hook up with a European Coach Tour. Fly over to one of the London airports, stay the night in a hotel and then join with your selected coach tour company.
