Far East Cruises

May 20th, 2008

For a holiday with a difference you can’t go wrong with cruises to the Far East, including the wonders of China, Cambodia and Thailand. Cruises tend to start from a few of the larger cosmopolitan cities such as the cultural hotspot Bangkok in Thailand and you will have no shortage of things to do in Thailand’s bustling capital. Hong Kong, now part of China, this former British colony has a life of its own and is truly a 24 hour a day living city. If culture and history is your thing, then a pre or post cruise land stay will often lead to visiting such wondrous and historic places such as the Great Wall of China or the Forbidden City. Cruising in the Far East is relatively new to the world of cruising and yet is so popular more ships than ever before are being sent to the region as cruisers lap up the pleasures of this mysterious land.

Considerations When Booking A Cruise ? Part III

July 15th, 2007

When considering when to consider booking a cruise, here are a few specifics that can guide your planning.

Trips to Bermuda are popular for a number of reasons. It’s a great island to visit and the trip from Florida is short, making for a great two or three day cruise. As a result, prime cabins in the summer months of July and August will sell out six to nine months in advance.

But, fortunately for cruise-goers, the weather in April-May and September-October can also be great. Those off-peak months give travelers many more options but keep in mind that hurricanes, or at least heavy storms, can affect travel near the end of October. Be prepared to be flexible.

Cruises from New York (and other points) to Europe are still some of the best cruises to take even 100 years after they first began. Cruise lines have responded by offering more trips but demand still presses on supply, keeping the price high.
